DIY IPHONE STAND
Happy Holidays to you ALL! I've been enjoying my break AND the fact that I have more time to do some DIY'S. I was in Home Depot looking for some supplies for another DIY and my husband stumbled on this WHITE COUNTER TRIM TILE and said "You can use it as a phone stand". My eyes lit up and I tried it in the store and it worked PERFECT. I added some felt self adhesive stickers and this is what I got. Feel free to jazz it up even more but my decor is yellow, white, and grey so the white worked perfect for my nightstand. :)

Beyonce and Cakes LOVES Chloe and Halle!
Beyonce has recently shown ALOT of love to kid talent on her Facebook and Instagram. Chloe and Halle who were students of my kids dance program Project SLIDE and have worked closely with were recently one of them. If you know them like I do you know they LOVE Beyonce so how cool of to get that stamp of approval by Beyonce herself. They covered Beyonce's Pretty Hurts flawlessly so we can see why the "Queen Bey" herself couldn't deny the talent that these two young ladies have. I remembers meeting them 4 years ago and seeing the potential in these too ladies. After meeting with them I knew I had to post a video of them because they just had that it factor to me and raw talent. I then started doing their choreography, introducing them to people in the industry, and supporting their careers as much as I could. Check out their cover of pretty hurts and SLIDE'S recent dance video to Beyonce's Flawless. Kudos to Chloe and Halle and look out for them as it's clear to see their future is bright. Also check out Project SLIDE Atlanta's premiere dance program for kids and our awesome services for kid dancers and singers. www.projectslide.com

Beyonce's Surprise Album
So I haven't honestly purchased a full album in FOREVER and then at midnight the Beyonce/ Beyhive Buzz started regarding her surprise album dropping.
As a dance teacher I'm ALWAYS looking for great music so I figured I can trust Beyonce to deliver. So I went to iTunes and listen to every song first. Honestly at first I had a look on my face like, "what has happened to Beyonce" only a couple of songs caught my attention after only listening to the sample. Then I realized they provided video snippets for every song. I watched every video snippet and was completely sold after that for several reasons 1) I admired her work ethic and that each video was different and visually stunning. 2) The songs made more sense and were more Beyonce than I realized! Needless to say I purchased the full visual album for only 15.99 :) Oh yea AND she had a clean version so I can teach something to my kid and teen dancers. Way to go Beyonce!!!
So I have to share what I learned from Beyonce's release of this visual album as an entrepreneur. I was so inspired!
1) trust your gut
2) take risk
3) go against the grain
4) do you
5) create honest work
Thanks for the inspiration now I really can't wait for her to rock one of my Don't Be Shady Be Cool Tshirts that are available at www.iamcakes.com ! :)

Ways to Clean Your Make Up Brushes Using Household Items
So today I decided to clean my Make-Up brushes by using a different method. I normally clean my brushes using extra virgin olive oil and Dawn's antibacterial dish soap! Thanks to Lingywashere I discovered a new way that might be even cheaper. All you need is rubbing alcohol and Pears Transparent soap from the dollar store (or any soap for that matter). I love this method as well! My thoughts extra virgin olive oil method and Dish soap is a great way to clean, disinfected, and condition your brushes. The Soap and alcohol is a GREAT way to also clean and disinfect your brushes. I like that with the soap method you can hold the soap in your hand and massage the brush on the soap until it's clean. Either way these are GREAT and Cheap ways to clean your makeup brushes using household items. Let me know which method works for you and check out a video below using the soap method!

CAKES NEW DANCE VIDEO UP & BE SHAMELESS REVELATION!
So I've neglected my own youtube channel to go harder with my kids dance program channel Project SLIDE but I finally got around to posting a video yay me..lol. I'm pushing myself as an entrepreneur to go harder with Being Shameless and promoting myself thanks to a youtuber named Shameless Maya. Check out her youtube channel she has done A LOT in a year by simply shamelessly promoting herself. When I first started my company in error, I use to push my company harder than myself I recently realize through my studies that it is important to promote yourself first. There is more security in YOU so promote yourself first that is my tip for the month. So with that being said here is my latest video and be sure to check out my website www.iamcakes.com More videos and shameless promotion coming soon. Thanks for all the support and stay inspired.

Moving Forward! Thank You Solange!
So everyone that really knows me knows that besides being super silly I LOVE GOOD CLASSY entertainment. I long for the day when music and true showmanship are at the forefront. Music, Live Performances, Sitcoms, Movies, etc are just NOT what they use to be and at times I feel like we are going backwards! :( Anyway without going on a tangent I just have to give props to Solange Knowles for her new song "Losing You" and video. Everything about this was just RIGHT! Thank YOU SOLANGE! Oh and her performance on Jimmy Fallon was just brilliant. Check it out! Very simple, effective, and cohesive. It simply looks like she just put some thought into every aspect and made all the right choices. Thank You! No one seems to do that anymore! Anyway check it out and let's just continue to MOVE FORWARD! Solange Performing Losing You on Jimmy Fallon!

Never forget where you come from!
Hey All,
So i recently went back to my hometown which is very very small so few people actually come back. I've accomplish A LOT by the grace of God since moving away and I rarely go back. Well recently they had a great event called the All Stars Game where the old school battled the new school in a basketball game. I never thought I could relive the past but I did and it was amazing. This event made me realize how much that "small town" helped shape my career. I'm so thankful for the things I learned there and I'm now inspired to do even more so that I can put the small town of Estill officially on the MAP!
